Welcome to The Music Tree for 2012! Our team of teachers is really looking forward to meeting you all and having a great time, singing, playing, dancing and creating.
Dates & Accounts
Classes commence on Monday February 6th and conclude on Saturday May 26th, making the term 15 weeks for Thursday and 14 weeks for Monday, Wednesday and Friday classes. People taking private piano or keyboard tuition will be billed for 9 lessons at a time, so you will end up receiving 4 accounts throughout the year.
There will not be any lessons on the long weekend, Monday March 12th or over the Easter Break from Good Friday April 6th to April 15th, or on Anzac Day April 25th.
Payment is due within 30 days of the date on the account and can be made by cheque, cash (please place in an envelope with your name on it) or by direct deposit to my ANZ account BSB 017-042 account number 4953-79007.
Make all cheques payable to The Music Tree.
Classes continue to be held at the Punchbowl Christian Centre, 100 Punchbowl Road.
Baby Class Special Offer
Pay $91.00 upfront for the whole term and save $35.00 (works out to $6.50 per lesson instead of $9.00). Alternatively pay for 6 lessons for the price of 5, only $45.00.
Concert Dates
The Soiree is booked for Saturday July 14th at 2pm, and our Annual Concert will be early this year on Saturday October 20th at 10.30am, all classes will be given the option to participate in this event so please book the date into your diary now.
Start Times
Please try to ensure that you arrive a couple of minutes early for your class. Children 4 years old and under must have an adult present for the entire lesson. It is preferable that parents of the 5-8 year old keyboard classes and guitar players stay and watch if possible as this gives you the opportunity help your child both in the class and at home.
Parents of students receiving private tuition will be invited in for the last 5 minutes of the lesson to review what has been worked on. If you are leaving please ensure that you are back in time to collect your child as there won't be any supervision outside the seminar room.
Welcome Sheet
Please read through the welcome sheet that is sent with your accounts. It is important to remember that children learn through repetition and won't get bored with the same thing over and over nearly as quickly as you will. Parents need to be patient, it may take your child some time to respond in class, they are much more likely to sing at home and in the car before they do at music, this is normal! Children take their cues from their parents so please join in with the activities and songs as much as you can.
During the year I will try to do some hand outs that explain a little more about what is going on in class and why we do things a particular way. In the meantime please feel free to ask me questions about the program.
Cancellation and Absentee Policy
Missed lessons will not be refunded, but a make up lesson may be done on another day if there is availability in a different class. All make up lessons must be taken within the term with a maximum of 3 make up lessons each term. If you are in one of the keyboard or guitar classes you can e-mail me to find out which pages of the book we covered.
If lessons are cancelled within the first two weeks of booking, no cancellation fee applies, but those two lessons must be paid for. However, after this period, a booking and administration fee of $30 will be incurred in addition to the fees for lessons up to the time of cancellation. All cancellations must be to Tonya either in person, by phone or e-mail.
Dance, Craft, Cooking and Parties
Don't forget to enroll in one of our new classes for 2012. Join Lou for a magical dance class to inspire, enchant and stimulate your child's imagination. Classes for 3 - 5 years Monday at 1.30pm and classes for 5-6 years Monday 3.30pm. Lou can also organise your school socials and dance classes. Craft classes with Adrienne for 3-5 year olds who love to make toys, games, costumes and a mess!
We can cater for all your children's party needs, be it music, dance, or craft. Party Box can deliver to you a box full of ideas, craft, costumes, games and more to make your child's party a memorable one, or if you would prefer one of our team of teachers can host your child's party. Coming soon party catering, all the party food you want, none of the hassle.
Individual Piano/Keyboard Tuition
Jeanette will be offering beginners of all ages individual lessons in piano and keyboard on Mondays and Fridays.
